The beaches, the weather, the food, the culture…..
Are a few things to mention
The first reason is already in its name, the sun. The wonderful climate, with 320 days of sunshine a year, is not found anywhere else in Europe, nor even in the rest of Spain. Summer is always sunny on the Costa del Sol.
Beaches, golf, nature, amusement and gastronomy
The Costa del Sol has it all if you are looking for the perfect holiday destination. Andalusia hides magical places that attract tourists from all over the world. Marbella, Estepona, Benahavis, Mijas, Ronda, Malaga, Seville, Granada, Sierra Nevada, Tarifa, Gibraltar, Jerez and Cádiz are just some of them.
The Perfect Weather
With its 320 days of sunshine a year and average annual temperatures of around 19 degrees Celcius, (25-30 in summer), the Costa del Sol is a sunny paradise, even in winter. The beach season starts in early spring and continues until the end of October. At Quartiers Marbella Apartments one of the swimming pools is heated, so you can sunbathe and swim all year round while overlooking the sea, Gibraltar and the African coast.
Beaches and Marinas
There are a countless number of beaches on Costa del Sol. Some of them are wild and untouched, others are home to trendy beach clubs, restaurants and bars. The wild beaches of Tarifa, the windsurfers paradise, are also very close to us, less than a one hour drive. Along the coast, there is at least one marina in every town. Puerto Banus is the most famous of them but the new Muelle Uno in Malaga and the Marina in Benalmadena are also very popular.
Gastronomy
Good food is an important part of the holidays and Costa del Sol is full of good restaurants. In particular, Benahavis is famous for its restaurants and Puerto Banus is a paradise for eating out. Don’t miss to read our other blogposts about gastronomy and restaurants.
White Villages and Historic Cities
The famous Andalusian White Villages Route, Ruta de Los Pueblos Blancos, includes locations in the provinces of Cádiz and Málaga. It is undoubtedly one of the most famous routes of traditional Andalusian architecture. The route is a journey through history and ancient traditions. Furthermore, in all big Andalusian cities, you can visit monuments, castles, fortresses and historic archaeological remains. The Alhambra and the Generalife in Granada, for example, are one of the most well known and most beautiful monuments in the world.
Nightlife and Fun
”Fiesta” is typical of the Andalusian character. Costa del Sol is a destination full of alternatives to have fun at any time, day and night. During the daytime, people spend their time eating and drinking on terraces, beach bars and clubs, shopping and going to street markets. In evenings and at night, the restaurants get crowded and the night clubs open up. Many of the most popular restaurants, bars and nightclubs are concentrated in the marinas along the coast, For example in Puerto Banus in Marbella.
