Golf all year round
In Andalusia, the climate allows golf to be played all year round, which is a real privilege for golf enthusiasts. The Costa del Sol has the highest concentration of golf courses per square meter in Europe. The Sotogrande area and surroundings are, without doubt, the most attractive golf zones on the Costa del Sol, with numerous courses at all price levels.
The Marbella area and The Golden Mile were for a long time the reference point for golf in all of Europe. Nowadays, the whole coastline, from Málaga to Sotogrande, is attractive for golf tourists.
According to Golf Digest, the golf course Valderrama is among the 100 best golf courses in the world.
The Costa del Sol is also known as Costa del Golf due to being home to more than 70 golf courses where you can enjoy playing golf in the sunshine all year around. Never mind if it is winter, spring, summer or autumn. The golf season at Costa del Sol lasts all year round. The golf course Valderrama is one of the legendary golf courses in Spain, having hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup won by Europe. Valderrama was designed by the famous late golf architect Robert Trent Jones.
The fairways between old olive trees are characteristic of the world-famous Valderrama Golf Course. It also has been home to 16 VOLVO Masters Competitions and two Amex Championships. It is considered to be a legendary golf club in Spain.
